Research integrity and security: Exploring funding agency roles in supporting responsible internationalization and reciprocity - Insight paper.

Author

  • Tommy Shih

Summary, in English

- An increasingly complex geopolitical landscape puts more emphasis on national interests.
- The pressures from knowledge securitization need to be handled in order to also
meaningfully address the needs and opportunities presented by global scientific
collaboration.
- Research integrity, ethics, research security, knowledge securitization, equity, and
responsible internationalization need to be considered in tandem. Rather than discussing these notions separately this paper focuses on the importance of managing them in an integrated manner.
- Both a simplified picture of the situation for global research networks as well as more granular descriptions of pertinent issues, such as reciprocity, are needed in order to inform the discussion on how integration may be developed.
