Summer exchange for LUSEM students

Study at one of LUSEM's partner universities this summer!

Participating in a summer exchange is a great way to boost your employability, explore new courses and subjects, practice your language skills and expand your global network.

Summer exchange

Some of LUSEM's partner universities offer summer courses in the framework of the exchange. This means that students nominated by LUSEM are exempted tuition fees. Students applying should be aware that there will be other costs associated with the exchange, such as administrative fees and if applicable -  travel expenses, living costs and costs for activities.

Requirements to apply

In order to apply for a summer exchange programme, you must meet the following requirements at the time of application:

You must be registered for full-time studies at the School of Economics and Management at the time of application and during the previous semester.

  • You have completed at least 30 credits at the School.
  • You have completed at least 75% of the credits from previous semesters on your programme or on your individual study plan.
  • Partaking is suitable for Bachelor's and Master's students majoring in any of the subjects offered at LUSEM.

Application process for LUSEM students

What if I have been on an exchange before?

You can apply for a summer exchange even if you have previously been nominated for an exchange semester through LUSEM. Similarly, participation in a summer exchange will not prevent you from applying for an exchange semester in the future.

Students who have not previously participated in a summer exchange through LUSEM are prioritized in the selection process.

Financing

Students are eligible for CSN only for courses longer than 3 weeks within the EU/EEA, and for courses longer than 13 weeks outside the EU/EEA. Students who apply for summer courses at a Nordic partner university could be eligible for the NOREK scholarship.

Citizens of a non-EU/EEA country must pay a tuition fee

Tuition-fee-paying students who are citizens of a non-EU/EEA country must continue to pay tuition fees to Lund University during their summer exchange, but not to the host university.

Students who do not pay tuition fees in Sweden are not required to pay tuition fees at the host university.

Other summer courses

  • Lund University offers summer courses in other subject areas for full-time students who have earned at least 30 credits at the time of application, and 60 credits at the planned time of departure.
  • Stanford University's International Honors Program
  • Some of LUSEM’s partner universities offer another category of summer courses that are not part of an exchange, where students must pay a tuition fee. LUSEM students are sometimes offered a reduced price for coming from a partner university. Application is made directly to the university offering the summer course - LUSEM International Office does not deal with applications to this category of summer courses. For questions regarding these summer courses, contact the respective university directly. Other deadlines may apply!
