Scholarships at the Sten K. Johnson Centre for Entrepreneurship

Financial aid for prospective and active programme students

We have networks with various organisations that provide funding opportunities for qualified prospective and enrolled students in the Master's programme in Entrepreneurship and Innovation.

Scholarship for International Students

Through a generous donation from the Stiftelsen Entrepreneurship in Lund, a full scholarship is available for international students applying for the Master’s programme in Entrepreneurship and Innovation. This scholarship is specific to our Master's programme and merit-based, and it covers the entire tuition fee for one high-achieving non-EU citizen applicant.

Applications for this scholarship must go through the Lund University Global Scholarship programme.

Another scholarship for international students who apply to our Masters' programme is the SI Scholarship for Global Professionals. The Swedish Institute (SI), a Swedish government agency, has a number of scholarships open for students from 41 countries outside the EU/EEA area. The SI scholarships cover both tuition fees and living expenses for ambitious students pursuing full-time master's studies in Sweden. Please note that you must have submitted an application for the Master's programme in Entrepreneurship and Innovation at universityadmissions.se before applying for the SI Scholarship.

Funding for early-stage ideas

While studying in the programme, students can apply for funding from Leapfrogs to turn their business ideas into reality. Whether you are just starting out or ready to take your business idea to the next level, Leapfrogs provides a unique opportunity for financial support. The scholarship provides students with a grant of 40,000 SEK to work on their business idea during the summer, along with comprehensive support in business development, interactive workshops, and access to an invaluable network of professionals and peers.

If the new venture project addresses global societal challenges and creates long-term, measurable sustainability impacts, students can also apply for the Sustainability-Leapfrogs.

Venture Cup is a nonprofit organisation that arranges a nationwide startup competition in Sweden. In addition to useful feedback, impressive networking opportunities, and chances for exposure, participants have the opportunity to win money that can help their startups move forward. Depending on the stage of your business, you can compete in either Venture Cup IDEA or Venture Cup STARTUP. As our Centre is located in Skåne County, you will compete in the Venture Cup Syd. The STARTUP competition features four main prize categories: Impact Maker, Game Changer, Best Traction, and Beyond Academic. Additionally, there is a chance to win the Crowd Award, an extra prize voted on by the audience live at both the regional and national finals.

Lund University’s sustainability fund

If your business idea primarily focuses on sustainability, you can apply for Lund University’s sustainability fund. The Sustainability Forum, LU Innovation, and LU Estates jointly manage this university-wide fund, which supports ecological, social, and economic sustainability projects for Lund University students and employees.

Funding for innovative project ideas

Students and staff members working on innovative project ideas with a connection to Skåne can apply for financial support from the Sten K. Johnson Foundation. The financial support targets individuals, organisations, and companies that have the vision and drive to realise their projects in the areas of education, medicine, technology, entrepreneurship, literature, and music. The foundation, in the spirit of Sten K. Johnson, supports cross-border initiatives and innovative individuals who are pushing boundaries and exploring new horizons.
