Summary, in English

This edited volume aims to bring supervision to life and contribute to a better understanding of the relationship between the supervisor and the thesis-writing student.

The authors believe and hope that discussing supervision in terms of metaphors will contribute to a more profound mutual understanding between student and supervisor, a deeper understanding of the context(s) of supervision, reduce frustrations, and facilitate a more productive and harmonious collaboration between student and supervisor.

By illustrating each metaphor with a piece of comic art, the book aims to contribute to further reflection and discussion about the knowledge and know-how that the authors present through their metaphors.
