Congratulations and welcome to Lund in August!
You have been selected as one of the admitted students, among a large group of highly qualified applicants, to the BSc in International Business 2017–2020. We would like to remind you of the next steps you need to take in order to start your studies in August.
Read the pre-arrival guide thoroughly
All students admitted to Lund University are sent a pre-arrival guide before the start of the semester. These guides provide detailed information to help you prepare for your stay in Lund and the answers to most of the questions we receive from students.
LU Accommodation is mainly a service for international exchange and degree-seeking students. The application for housing via LU Accommodation closed on 8 May. Please contact LU Accommodation at email@example.com if you wish to apply after the application deadline.
Students with a housing guarantee do not lose their guarantee if applying after the deadline, but LU Accomodation cannot ensure that they will be able to offer you housing before the start of the semester.
LU Accommodation will not be able to offer housing to all international students and therefore we strongly recommend that you also apply through other accommodation agencies.
AF bostäder housing lottery 13–16 July
Sign up for AF Bostäder’s new student ("novisch") housing lottery between 13–16 July. Make sure to only sign up for AF's lottery, not their regular housing queue, so that it is clear that you are a new student that should be given priority in the queue.
Remember to print your Notification of Selection results!
We encourage you to print the "Notification of Selection Results" from your account at www.universityadmissions.se. This is your official letter of acceptance that you will need both for your residence permit application (if applicable) and when you arrive in Lund.
Arrival Day and Orientation Weeks
All international students are encouraged to arrive in Lund by the official Arrival Day on Tuesday 15 August.
On Arrival Day you will be able to check in, and receive all information you need about life in Lund. The orientation weeks are filled with activities, fairs, excursions, tours and seminars, and is a great opportunity to make new friends and to learn more about Sweden and Lund.
Invitation for an informal coffee the 17th of August
Those of you who are already in Lund during the Orientation Weeks are welcome for an informal coffee the 17th of August at 12:45 (in between the two sessions of the seminar ”Cultural Adjustment and Swedishness” in the Orientation weeks programme) in EC1:137 at the School of Economics and management. The purpose is for you to see the school and meet the programme coordinator. The official introduction meeting is the 28th of August and questions about the programme will be answered then. If you want to attend the informal coffee please inform the programme coordinator Madeleine Forsberg by email.

The student union's Novice Week 21–26 August
The Novice Week takes place in Lund between Monday 21 of August until Saturday the 26 of August. It is an intensive week with a great variety of activites, all of them focusing on you getting to know as many of your new class mates as possible.
More than 350 new students participate in the week where you will be divided into groups of approximately 20 people each. There are experienced students acting as mentors (faddrar) during the week, and they will show you all the best sides of the ”Lunda-life”.
Read more about the activities and how to sign-up at the student union's website.
Programme introduction 28–29 August
There will be two mandatory introduction days for the programme, the 28th and 29th of August. Both days start at 10:00 am and will finish in the afternoon. The introduction will be held in the classroom EC3:207 at Lund University School of Economics and Management (Visiting adress: Holger Crafoord Centre, Tycho Brahes väg 1, Lund).
Programme details and schedule
The schedule for the first courses will be sent to all admitted students as soon as it is confirmed in August. The programme is a full-time programme and you are expected to put in a 40 hour workload per week or more (including readings, lectures, assignments and group work). We will send you programme specific updates before the start of the programme.
We have gathered syllabi and literature for your first five courses at our website.
Contact information form
We would like all admitted students to answer some questions about themselves and to provide a person to contact in case of emergency. You will find the form and more information at
Learn more and connect
Further practical information will be provided upon your arrival, both in the welcome package that you will receive on Arrival Day and at the general information meeting.
Your contact person before, during and after your studies is your programme coordinator.
We have also created a closed Facebook group where you can connect with us and your fellow classmates.
We wish all of you a wonderful summer and we are looking forward to seeing you in August!
