Meet Catarina Santos, one of our students in Sustainable Future Hub's student network who shares her story.

Catarina, you are one of students in Sustainable Future Hub’s student network, please tell us a little bit about yourself and what you are currently studying?
I am a 22-year-old Portuguese student at Lund University and I am currently finishing my first year of the Master’s programme in Applied Cultural Analysis (MACA). I am passionate about literature, languages and you have guessed it, culture! In the future, I look forward to getting involved in more social and environmental impact projects where I can establish a dialogue between local knowledge and technology.
You were also part of the Reversed mentorship this semester. What did you learn from it?
As a recent member of the Sustainable Future Hub's Student network, the Reversed mentorship was a pleasant surprise. I have gained insights into businesses and learnt how to communicate and share interests in a professional setting. Also, I broaden my network and discovered new topics within sustainability. I am confident that I will continue to learn more as time goes by and, I could not be more excited!
You have kept contact with the company Solar SEED from the Reversed mentorship, what is your next step with them?
My next step is to finalize my project proposal for Solar SEED. In short, as part of my Master’s programme, I must do a work placement and I was able to secure it with this company. Hopefully, sometime next semester, I will be flying to Malawi and research women’s daily practices on energy use.
Best of luck for the future! Is there something you would like to add from your experience in Sustainable Future Hub’s student network, the Reversed mentorship or the coming internship with Solar SEED?
Thank you so much! To be part of both the network and the Reversed mentorship has been an enriching experience that I will take with me in future challenges. Also, I was able to find people with similar interests who have taught me a lot. Therefore, based on my experiences, I would like to encourage everyone interested in sustainability to apply to the Sustainable Future Hub's Student network and make the most out of it.
