The Swedish Corporate Sustainability Ranking

Since 2018, Associate Professor Susanne Arvidsson (also director of Lund Institute for Sustainability Impact) works together with the newspapers Dagens Industri and Aktuell Hållbarhet in providing a ranking of the most sustainable Swedish companies.

In April 2018, the Swedish Corporate Sustainability Ranking was launched in April 2018. The objective with this transparent ranking-process, conducted annually, is to highlight good corporate initiatives on how to communicate sustainability performance in a value relevant, credible and comparable way. In the process of reaching Agenda 2030 it is viewed a great challenge to develop ways to increase the quality of information on how organisations perform on the different sustainability arenas. How far has Swedish companies come in this process and where are improvements needed?

With the objective of enhancing the competences of LUSEM students in the area of integrating sustainability perspectives into valuation/financial performance, as well as, building networks with prominent external stakeholders, Susanne Arvidsson, chairperson of the Ranking’s Advisory Board, engaged the student union LINC (The Finance Society of Lund University) to participate in the data-collection process. A group of LINC students attend all Advisory Board meetings and work closely with the Board in the annual ranking process.
