Workshop on coaching techniques in PhD supervision
Workshop
Welcome to a workshop on coaching techniques in PhD supervision. The workshop is given twice the same day 09:15-11:45 and 14:15-16:45.

Research supervisors are expected to support their PhD students in many ways, help them navigate the research education, and foster them into mature scholars through their PhD projects. This traditionally includes regular conversations on various matters but also checking progress, making strategic judgements, demanding and rewarding compliance with goals and commitments, and dealing with problems such as anxiety and writer’s block. Taking a coaching approach to PhD supervision may be a rewarding alternative strategy for both supervisor and students.
